So you may have seen this video or watched a streamer react to it. Aiueo700 aka Iwama, the subject of the video is a schizophrenic streamer and lolcow from Japan. In the course of his streaming career Iwama amassed a large variety of trolls who would visit his house and either harass or bring him things sort of like Drachenlord. Gary was one of the people who trolled Iwama during the later stages of his most active period as a lolcow.
I have found a minor participant in this saga Named Gary Firth
While searching for lolcows I came across Gary’s channel and found him very weird from the start. When I looked in his comments to see if I could find out more about him I kept seeing reference to “Iwama Yoshizaku” and “Iwakura Santa”. Though I had seen the video about this Gary is not mentioned and Iwama is only referred to as Yoshi so I didn’t know what the hell I was getting myself into. This is a deep and multilayered lolcow saga that the video barely scratches the surface of. By virtue of Gary being the only English speaking participant that I know of from this we are able to use his extremely suspect take on events to get a deeper understanding into what went on. Aside from that Gary is a fully fledged lolcow in his own right being known in his area as a strange and potentially dangerous person long before he inserted himself into the Iwama drama(lol).
Gary is originally from Sheffield, UK but has spent the last 30 years travelling the world though mostly it would seem Japan and to a lesser extent New Zealand. He seems to be a consummate liar and delusional to boot so it’s hard to trust what he says but it seems like Gary worked for a British telecommunications company in some capacity during the 80s. Margaret Thatcher and what Gary sees as unfair working conditions were the stated reason for his departure. From that point Gary briefly travelled the world before meeting a Japanese teacher in New Zealand which seems to have ignited his passion to “explore” Japan.
From the way he talks it is evident Gary has a fetish for Japanese people and I do say that broadly. Gary makes many extremely creepy videos of Japanese people of all ages and genders grouping them into playlists with names such as “Kids in Japan” and “Handsome Pretty Japanese”.
Gary spent the 90s and 2000s drifting from job to job with the help of a supposed wealthy businessman in the “security business”. At some point presumably hoping it would help him achieve easier Visa status Gary married a Japanese woman and they had two children around 2010ish.
In mid 2019 Gary inserted himself into the Iwama Yoshikazu situation presumably hoping to boost his own online career. Gary began to visit Iwama’s house sometimes bringing him things or tricking him and also began to interact with different people and characters already involved in the drama. Gary would also do reports from the scene of important incidents giving us an English dub version of all this crazy drama for the short time period he was involved.
The only Job Gary really can be confirmed to have and which he works to this day is as a metal scrapper for which he shows his special methods of stripping wire. Currently he still streams and makes videos on Youtube but the content lately just features his life scrapping metal, going on skitzo rants about who knows what or navigating the intricacies of being a dodgy foreigner in Japan.
It would be impossible to detail all of Gary’s grimy strangeness in one post so I will update and post as I look more into him and the Iwama situation.

How I got to Japan Series
Tells the story of how he came to Japan and this is a good primer for the rest of his life as it is clear how many lies and delusions Gary weaves into his stories.
How did I get to Japan
[Gary talks about how he came to Japan. He starts out saying he used to work for British Telecom but he left due to what he felt was an unfair amount of time for breaks. He says he then sold his house and travelled around the world ending up in New Zealand where he lived in Queenstown for 18 months. While living there he shared an apartment with a Japanese English teacher. Thinking it would help his prospects for finding a job in that corner of that world Gary decided to learn Japanese. While selling all his possessions to buy a plane ticket to Japan Gary claims he met a stewardess who heard his plan and offered to introduce him to a very powerful Japanese businessman. Gary says he arrived in Japan in February 14th 1990(lol). Gary says getting to Japan and seeing the thousands of people in the streets was a big culture shock coming from New Zealand. Gary then says he met with the mysterious businessman who offered to let Gary stay at his house.]
HOW DID GET TO JAPAN #2
[Gary Continues his story talking about his stay with his Japanese benefactor who he says had a “wife of convenience “ meaning more or less just for show to help his business interests. The wife and Gary were put up in a house in Tokyo while the husband lived in an apartment in Shinigawa wherever that is. He says he was taken out that weekend by one of his benefactor’s employees to a German themed bar which served mainly beer. Gary mentioned to his benefactor(I’ll just call him his Boss from now on) he thought he could do this job and he ended up working there. He says the only obstacle at that point was a Visa but his boss just put him “on his books” and it was no problem.]

Aieou700 Saga
Warning: I will absolutely not be able to do a good job of explaining this as most of the lore is contained on Japanese sites and some of Gary’s videos on the subject have been deleted or are in Japanese.
From what I can tell at some point in 2019 Gary became involved with the now infamous Japanese lolcow Yoshikasu Iwama(aka Aieou700, Best700 Refered to from here as Iwama). This was rather late
in the game as people has had been following Iwama since around 2015 and from all accounts Gary had a very minor part in the whole event. What can be gleaned is that Gary himself is somewhat of a minor celebrity/lolcow in the area having been known prior to inserting himself in the drama. I am left to piece together events from Gary’s remaining videos unless I can find some way to search and translate something about him from the Jap web.
Gary’s involvement from his point of view seems to be archiving events that happened in this saga as well as playing minor tricks on Iwama such as pretending to give him money in a toy box but then stealing it back. It is nice to have an English archive of these events but due to Gary’s status as an unreliable narrator I don’t know how accurate his retelling is.
