I'm not saying it never happened I'm just saying while I was over there I never saw that. If I did I would have immediately went to my lieutenant with it, and if SHARP would have been around when I was there I would have went to them.

because this is what happens like half the time when you're a woman: you report bad conduct, you're told 'well you did x and y so it's going to be hard to prove malicious intent on his part' or 'why did you put yourself in that position?' or 'he's really on an upward trajectory so let's not ruin his life' or 'i support you but to get any type of consequences you're going to have to detail these horrific things that happened to you in front of dozens of people'. a family member of mine was a victim's advocate in the courts and the things she would tell me, about many incidents in different states, completely disillusioned me at a young age to the idea of institutional fairness when it comes to prosecuting sexual assault. and that was just civilian stuff!

I don't have enough knowledge to speak on it because I never saw anybody reprimanded while I was there. But then again we were the first batch so we went out of our way to be respectful to the women in our unit because (not to sound sexist) but we knew they were even more terrified than we were.

The only thing we really got reprimanded for a lot was pulling pranks on each other, but it was just dumb shit like cup checks and playing the slap game lol.

But that was like 20 years ago so I'm sure things have gotten much worse since then. I mean you kind of threw shade at me about my "perception being the end-all be-all" but that's literally all I have to base it on... My experiences while I was over there.

I can't tell you what it's like now because I'm two decades removed from it. I'm just saying while I was there that type of stuff wasn't going on at least not around us.
