Interesting life hack, but I do question how many times you can skull fuck a 12v gel cell before it stops taking a charge. They really hate being discharged to less than 50%.
You should save up for a LiFePO4 power station. They have longer run time per pound and built-in USB, and they will go from 100% to totally dead a few thousand times before they stop working.
