His idea that we should have universal healthcare, while unrealistic in our retarded political landscape and quite ambitious, is the right way forward. It's possible the pharma people see it as an opportunity to move more product, because if people can see the doctor at no direct cost to them, a lot more people would. Otherwise, I'm not sure what they thought they were getting out of this.
Speaking of members of the tribe, did you know one of our own grifted billions over decades and died in prison? You could say he "made off" with a lot of peoples' money. I think he got off too easy, TBH.

I just don't understand why we need universal health care. If you have a good job, it comes with good healthcare. If you are poor, State insurance is free with zero copays.
Being taxed into the stone age so lazy non-contributors like Ashley can have the same shitty health care as you where you don't get a choice in doctors, aren't allowed to get a second opinion, wait 20 hours in the emergency room like in Canada, or get scheduled to get a busted tooth taken out a month later (happened to a friend of mine in Australia who was in agonizing pain) all to get subpar healthcare because of budget constraints is not "the right way forward".

From youth we are pumped full of poisons and drugs like caffeine, refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup, additives and preservatives and fast food and energy drinks that kill your body quicker than heroin and are twice as addictive.
I like things the way they are. Your job should have really good health care. And if you're poor, you should be so poor that you get Medicaid. The only thing that I would do differently is spend maybe 10% less on the fucking military industrial complex so that we can significantly raise the income level for people to qualify for Medicaid.

I can't speak for your Midwest state, but where I'm at the "free Obamacare" absolutely had copays. When I was poor enough to be eligible, the copays were a big expense for me. The doctors would sometimes want to do extra tests, they swear were covered. Lo and behold, I get a bill in the mail for $400. Prescriptions also cost out of pocket money.
Then there's the jobs that pay just enough to make you ineligible, but don't offer any benefits either. They are legally able to offer something called "MEC" which is a scam. Thanks for nothing, Obama.

Right now I'm a month late getting PT for an injury because the insurance scumbags can't find anyone willing to do it for poverty wages. And if they thought they could get away with it, they'd probably try to tell me I don't even need it.
I'm legitimately diagnosed with ADHD. I'm unmedicated because I don't want to be dependant on my employer. When its time to go, I'm out. The worrying about having to change doctors because the new employers benefits put my doctor out of network is not something I want to deal with. So instead I go without.
I'd really like to skip the drugs altogether and get CBT instead, but that has the same problems, with a lot more visits and a much longer waiting list.
Either way I'm being held back.
