What Israel should have done a long time ago is to have gradually absorbed the Gaza Strip in steps as an autonomous homeland or a city-state (but still a part of Israel) and absorbed the Palestinian legislature as a part of the Knesset and declare Israel a binational state. Two homelands but one united country,
